The Laredo Independent School District Police Department seeks to hire and retain the most qualified, motivated individual for our team. Currently, individuals wishing to apply for a position with our department must be TCLEOSE certified and be able to pass an extensive background check, physical and psychological testing. In addition the LISD Police Department has instituted a physical fitness test that all sworn personal must successfully pass.

Employees of the LISD Police Department are considered At-Will employees and as such are mandated by the rules and regulations set forth governing these positions. Each new sworn police officer is required to successfully pass a one year probationary period. Security personal (non sworn)are required to pass a 6 month probationary period. During this time an employee may be terminated at will.
