Laredo Independent School District elementary campuses will be hosting Meet the Teacher Night on Thursday, August 8, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at each of their elementary campuses.  Schools are inviting parents to visit their children’s classrooms during Meet the Teacher Night. Parents and children are welcome to attend.

All elementary school campuses will open their doors to parents for a firsthand look into the learning their children will receive daily.  Parents will also learn what expectations the teachers have set for their classes during the school year.

As part of the district’s ongoing commitment to enhancing school safety, Laredo ISD will promote the use of clear backpacks for all students from kindergarten to 12th grade during the 2024-2025 academic year. The requirement excludes pre-k students. As part of LISD’s Clear Backpack Initiative the district will be distributing one free clear backpack for each elementary student during Meet the Teacher Night.

“Parents will have an opportunity to meet their child’s teacher and ask questions prior to the first day of school,” said Myrtala Ramirez, LISD Director of Elementary Education. “This will also be a good opportunity to bring their child’s labeled school supplies.”

Also please don't forget to bring any required documents or supplies. The first day of school for the 2024-2025 school year is Monday, August 12.

If you have any questions, please contact your child’s campus. For more information visit www.laredoisd.org or call the LISD Office of Communications at 956-273-1730.
