Kendra Scott Designs is hosting a fundraiser for LISD’s Coat Them With Love project. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, September 20, 2022, from 5:30 p.m., to 7:30 p.m., at their new store located at 7309 San Dario Avenue, Suite 100 (next to Wing Stop in the Target Store area).

LISD's Parent and Family Engagement Department held its Parent Academy of Learning this morning. Parents had an interesting session with guest speakers from the district's Gifted and Talented Director Monica Calles and Special Education Supervisor Alfredo Vergara.

Laredo ISD is following its regular schedule today Monday. August 15, 2022. We urge our parents, students and staff to proceed cautiously. LISD will be flexible with tardies this morning.
LISD has not experienced any major delays, but will be keeping watch over all of our campuses and surrounding areas. The LISD Transportation Department is continuing with their routes and all school cafeterias are open and serving breakfast.
At last night's LISD's board meeting, Trustees paused to recognize an outstanding educator and respected community leader, Board Member and Parliamentarian, Dr. Minita Ramirez. She began serving Laredo College as its first female President recently. LISD will always be grateful for her leadership and service.

The Laredo Independent School District has teamed up with United ISD and the South Texas Food Bank to feed people in need.
Cigarroa, Martin, and Nixon High Schools will team up with UISD high schools on the gridiron to collect peanut butter for local families by participating in the 2022 Peanut Butter Bowl.
Starting with the first day of school and leading up to the first football game of the season each high school will be collecting jars of peanut butter for the South Texas Food Bank. You can also make a $2 jar donation online at www.peanutbutterbowl.com

Dovalina Elementary School had two special guests visit the campus. Miss Laredo USA 2022 Alma Gonzalez and Miss Laredo Teen USA 2022 Dylana Estrella stopped by to read books and talked about their experience as pageant participants to students from pre-kinder through first grade.
