Welcome to Bruni Elementary
Principal's Message
Dear Badger Families and Students, I hope you are all having an incredible, restful, and sun-filled July! Whether you’re traveling, spending time with family, or simply enjoying the slower pace of these warm summer days, I hope you are taking every opportunity to recharge. While our hallways are quiet right now, we are already busy behind the scenes preparing for an amazing 2026-2027 school year. Even though the first day of school is still a few weeks away, July is the perfect time to do a little gentle check-in to ensure our students don't lose their momentum. 📖 Keep the Pages Turning! One of the best ways to set your child up for a successful school year is to keep them reading. It doesn’t have to feel like homework! Choice is Key: Let them read comic books, graphic novels, sports magazines, or fiction—as long as they are reading, it counts! Make it a Habit: Just 15–20 minutes of reading a day keeps their minds sharp and helps prevent the "summer slide." Visit the Library: A trip to the local public library is a fantastic, free way to beat the July heat and discover new stories. 🗓️ Looking Ahead Parents, if you want a head start on planning, our preliminary 2026-2027 academic calendar is already live on the school website. https://www.laredoisd.org/page/back-to-school A message for our students: I miss your energy and smiles, but I want you to keep enjoying your summer break! Play outside, try something new, read a great book, and get plenty of rest. We have big things planned for you this fall! Thank you all for your continued partnership. Keep making wonderful summer memories, and we will see you very soon! Warmly, Mrs. Lopez Principal
