Chemistry Class: In this lesson students will learn about the impact of the environment on our TAMIU POND through scientific investigation of water quality through hands-on field work.
Students will work in groups to collect data from the field using testing kits and their senses such as sight and smell. They will communicate their results in writing (chart) & draw logical conclusions supported by their findings.
The students will test for concentration of nitrate, phosphate, dissolving oxygen, biological oxygen demand, pH, turbidity, salinity, & bacteria coliform levels.

Garcia early college high school Education majors, Joyce Guizar, Dante huizar, and Christy Sandoval participated in an open panel discussion hosted by LISD and TAMIU. These GECHS students shared their passion for education and personal dual enrollment experiences with LISD middle school students.
