Welcome to JA Kawas elementary
❄️Warm Winter Wishes☃️
Dear J.A. Kawas Elementary Parents and Guardians, As we prepare to close out 2024, we want to take a moment to wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! This holiday season, we reflect on the many accomplishments of our students, and we could not be prouder of their hard work and dedication. They continue to make us shine, and we know they will achieve even more in the coming year. We are deeply grateful for the incredible support and involvement of our parents. Your contributions to our school community have been nothing short of amazing, and we are humbled by your generosity and teamwork. Thanks to the leadership of our 4th-grade RLA teacher, Mrs. Laura Alvarado, and the efforts of our dedicated parent volunteers, the Christmas parade was a resounding success. It was heartwarming to see our school spirit shine so brightly. We would also like to celebrate the success of our Kinder and 1st-grade basketball teams. Under the guidance of parent volunteers Mr. Gerardo Alvarado and Mr. Morales, our young athletes are developing both their skills and their love for teamwork. Thank you for your time and dedication to our students. Looking ahead, we are preparing our students for academic success as we approach STAAR testing for grades 3rd through 5th and MAP testing for grades K through 2nd. To ensure our students are well-prepared, we will be offering tutorials from January through April for Kindergarten through 5th grade. More information will be shared after the holiday break. We are excited to remind you that our Winter Wonderland Christmas Program will take place this Thursday, December 19th, at 1:00 PM in the school gymnasium. Tickets have already been distributed, and we can’t wait to see you there to enjoy the performances. Please note that students will return to school on Monday, January 13, 2025. We look forward to welcoming everyone back rested, refreshed, and ready to embark on a new year of learning and growth. Thank you once again for your unwavering support and for being an integral part of our J.A. Kawas family. Your involvement is what makes our school such a special place. Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a prosperous New Year! With gratitude, Erika B. Rodriguez Principal J.A. Kawas Elementary School
