Welcome to JA Kawas elementary
💖Learning and Loving Books📚
Dear Parents, As we move forward in the school year, we want to emphasize the importance of the upcoming state assessments that will help measure our students' progress. Students in Kindergarten through 5th grade will soon take the TELPAS test, which evaluates their English language development. Additionally, our 3rd through 5th-grade students will be taking benchmark exams designed to simulate the STAAR test. These assessments are crucial in identifying areas where students need support, and we need your help to ensure they are fully prepared. We kindly ask that you continue supporting your child’s academic success by encouraging them to attend after-school tutorials. These sessions provide targeted instruction to strengthen their skills and build confidence ahead of these important exams. Your involvement at home—by ensuring your child gets enough rest, arrives on time, and completes homework—also plays a vital role in their success. On a fun note, we are excited about some upcoming fundraisers! Various student clubs will be selling items such as Valentine grams💝, with proceeds benefiting our Special Education Unit classes. Your participation will not only bring joy to our students but also support an important cause within our school. Finally, we want to give a big shout-out to Mrs. Escamilla’s and Mrs. Nava’s classes for their hard work in helping our students publish their second 📚book-I Have Big Dreams! 💭We are incredibly proud of their achievement, and we look forward to celebrating their success with an upcoming Book Signing Launch Party🎉—stay tuned for more details! Thank you for your continued support in making J.A. Kawas Elementary a place of learning, growth, and success. Let’s work together to help our students shine! Go Armadillos! With gratitude, Erika B.
