Nixon High School senior soccer players Fermin Ciriaco and Salvador Diaz have committed to play soccer at Missouri Valley College. They both signed their National Letter of Intent to continue their academic and soccer career at MVC in Marshall, Missouri. Ciriaco will be majoring in Kinesiology while Diaz will be majoring in Physical Therapy.
Summer means the start of our cross country season. Not just for runners and athletes, but for anyone interested in joining our program. We are looking to highly motivated and dedicated student/athletes willing to help our team. Anyone can join! For information go to RM 223.
BIPS Parent Meeting today May 3, 2023
#CharacterWins! 2 Words Character Development creator Stephen Mackey paid a visit to the Mighty Mustangs this morning! 17 athletic programs were in attendance.
Additionally, NHS student athletes and Texas 5A Letterman to Lead Scholarship recipients, which is powered by 2 Words Character Building Curriculum, Natalie Tristan and Alonso Alvarez were able to meet Mackey. Tristan and Alvarez were selected Female and Male Athlete of the Year for 5A, respectively.

LISD student-athletes from Cigarroa, Martin and Nixon High Schools, and Cigarroa, Lamar, Memorial, and Christen Middle Schools will be honored with medals and certificates for their perfect attendance, A Honor Roll, and positive attitude. The Triple “A” award is designed to assist LISD student-athletes in developing strong academic skills, positive behaviors as role models, and the ability to demonstrate a positive attitude.

Congratulation to the 2023 Mustang Legends. Nixon High School recently inducted 10 new members to their Mustang Legends during a special ceremony at the NHS Richard Barton Gym. The Legends were recognized for their outstanding achievements and contributions as distinguished graduates of Nixon High School. This year’s inductees include Gloria Sandoval Rendon – 1984, Norma Villarreal Arriaga – 1977, Juan Alfaro – 1981, Manuel Maciel – 1993, Ricardo Molina t - 1974, David Gonzalez – 1982, Rochelle Valdez Gonzalez – 1994, Richard Alvarado – 1976, Alejandro “Alex” Ramos – 1985, and Marco Gonzalez – 2007.
