scoc

The LISD Student Code of Conduct (SCOC) and Handbook is comprised of approved recommendations from LISD board members, legal counsel, staff, parents and students on a yearly basis, as required by Board Policy [FO (LEGAL), FO (LOCAL)]. All of the guidelines, policies and procedures are in accordance with Texas Education Code, Chapter 37 and any new legislative laws.

The SCOC is the District’s specific response to requirements of Chapter 37 of the Texas Education Code. The law requires the District to define misconduct that may – or must – result in a range of specific disciplinary consequences including removal from a regular campus or classroom, suspension, placement in a disciplinary alternative education program (DAEP) or expulsion from a school (JJAEP).

The intent of the SCOC is to provide information on topics such as standardized dress code, attendance and discipline guidelines and procedures, etc. The Student Handbook, provides information on report cards, progress reports, special education, schedule, school calendar, safety, etc.
