Cross Country

The Lamar Alumni Lady Lions cross country team has made history once again, qualifying for the prestigious UIL 5A Cross Country State Championships. The team’s exceptional performance in the District 30-5A, where they secured their third consecutive championship title, as well as a 4th place finish in the highly competitive Region IV-5A meet, has propelled them to the state level for their second appearance.

The Lady Lions, consisting of standout athletes Alessa De La Garza, Corrine Jackson, Jillian Quimbar, Sophia Sandoval, Samantha Viruel, and Zaddie SantaCruz, have proven themselves as one of the top cross country teams in the state. Their determination and relentless work ethic have led them to be crowned District 30-5A champions for the third year in a row, solidifying their legacy in the region.

As the Lady Lions prepare to compete in the UIL 5A State Championships, their sights are set on bringing home another state title for Lamar. This will mark their second appearance at the state level, where they hope to leave a lasting impression and inspire future generations of cross country athletes.
