Laredo Independent School District Athletic Department announced the naming of the new coach for Volleyball at Cigarroa High School. Belen Villarreal has been promoted as the new volleyball coach at Cigarroa High School.
Coach Villarreal has been in Special Education for 30 years. She started her coaching career at J. W. Arndt Elementary, and continued at Lamar Bruni Vergara Middle School. In 2014, she started coaching at Cigarroa High School as an assistant coach for basketball, volleyball, and track and field.
Coach Villarreal is a proud product of LISD schools graduating from Nixon High School. She attended Texas Woman’s University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Science for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired.
“Coach Belen brings great leadership to The Pride of South Laredo,” said Luis Escamilla, LISD Athletic Director. “Her experience will foster student success and empower our student-athletes.”
Coach Villarreal is married to Jesse J. Andrade from Pearland, TX. They have two sons, Sgt. Orlando J. Andrade and Andres J. Andrade both graduates from United South High School.
