LISD announce schedule for next week’s inclement weather After assessing upcoming inclement weather and possible icy road conditions and participating in discussions with City of Laredo Emergency Management Team (EMT) the Laredo Independent School District will adhere to the following schedule: • Monday, January 20, 2025 will be a regular school day for all students and staff. • Tuesday, January 21, 2025 classes will be cancelled at all LISD campuses and designated as a “Bad Weather Day.” Therefore, all students and staff will not be reporting to their classes or to their work sites on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Campuses and LISD Central Offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. This designated “Bad Weather Day” will be made up on a later date, as per the district scholastic calendar. • Wednesday, January 22, 2025 District operations and classes will resume on a delayed start schedule. All students and staff are expected to report to their campuses and/or work sites on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. All LISD campuses, administrative offices and departments are scheduled to open on Wednesday, January 22. LISD students are asked to report to their classes on Wednesday per the following schedule: Elementary Schools 9:30 a.m. Middle Schools 10:00 a.m. High Schools 10:30 a.m. Students and staff are urged to dress warmly and in multiple layers making use of caps, gloves, coats, and closed footwear. All athletic events and all other activities scheduled for Tuesday, January 21, have been postponed. LISD will continue to monitor weather forecast and road condition. If the weather conditions deteriorate and the schedules are changed, LISD families will be notified via local media, school messenger, and the district’s website at www.laredoisd.org, and social media sites. --------------------- LISD anuncia calendario para las inclemencias del tiempo de la próxima semana Después de evaluar las próximas inclemencias del tiempo pronasticadas y posibles condiciones de carreteras heladas y participar en discusiones con el Equipo de Manejo de Emergencias (EMT) de la Ciudad de Laredo, el Distrito Escolar Independiente de Laredo seguirá el siguiente horario: • Lunes, 20 de enero de 2025: Las clases se llevarán a cabo con normalidad para todos los estudiantes y el personal. • Martes, 21 de enero de 2025: Todas las clases y operaciones diarias serán canceladas, designando este día como "Día de Mal Tiempo".
