The LISD Child Nutrition Department held the Secondary Menu Advisory Committee (SMAC) Meeting today at the Trevino Magnet School Cafeteria. LISD secondary students taste tested and rated several new menu items that will be considered for next year’s school menu. During the year the students assist with evaluating food items, discuss cafeteria dining issues, advocate for their peers, and help plan menus.

Martin High School hosted 'Lunch with the Principal.' At least once a week, administration will take the time to have lunch with students. This gives them the opportunity to build communication. Students are able to ask questions and simply create conversations with MHS staff.

LISD releases students at Lamar Middle School The Laredo Independent School District is releasing students at M.B. Lamar Middle School today, Friday, February 10, at 12:30 p.m. due to a water line break in the area. The City of Laredo expects the water line to be repaired within the next several hours. Parents are asked to please pick up their children as soon as possible. The Child Nutrition Program will provide lunch to the students. LISD Transportation Department has already sent buses for those students who rely on bus transportation. Classes at Lamar Middle School will resume on Monday, February 13, at their regularly scheduled time.

The Laredo Independent School District’s Fixed Assets and Custodial Department will host a surplus auction on Saturday, February 11, at the LISD Fixed Assets Warehouse located at 2201 Santa Isabel St. The viewing of items will start at 9:00 a.m. with the auction starting promptly at 11:00 a.m. Cabello Auction Services will conduct the auction on behalf of the district. Some of the items to be sold are desks/tables, file cabinets, refrigerators, stoves, washer/dryer, wooden desk and tables, playground equipment, chairs, sofas, fences, floor machines, and miscellaneous items that are obsolete to the district. The auction list includes school buses, buffering machines, computer tables and desk, and student desk and chairs. Every item is sold as is. All sales are final. No refund will be given on any item.
