Parents at Cigarroa High enjoyed a morning of Peaceful Painting. The Parent & Family Engagement Program, in collaboration with art teachers Mr. Juan Castillo, Mr. Richard Tellez, and SCAN, made this "Peaceful Painting with Parents" event a success. Parents learned great ways to reduce stress and received excellent art lessons.🎨

LISD to observe Thanksgiving Holiday
The Laredo Independent School District campuses and administrative offices will be closed beginning Monday, November 20, through Friday, November 24, in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday.

On Saturday we had our CHS Sabas Perez ECHS and PTECH Open House. We had a great turnout at our Open House! We are eager to welcome the future class of 2028, a big thank you to all the teachers and students who assisted throughout the Open House.

LISD to host Specialty Schools Open House
Laredo Independent School District will be hosting its annual Specialty Schools Open House at each campus for eighth grade students and their parents on Saturday, November 11, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The seven specialty schools will open their doors to the community and invite eighth grade students to tour the campus and apply for admission for the 2024-2025 school year.
The event is aimed at recruiting students who may be interested in attending any LISD specialty school for the 2024-2025 school year. The seven early college high schools and magnet school include the Business, Industry, and Public Services Early College Academy at Nixon High School, Sabas Perez Early College High School at Cigarroa High School, Dr. Dennis D. Cantu Health Science Early College High School at Martin High School, Hector J. Garcia Early College High School located at Texas A&M International University, Pathways to Technology Early College High School at Cigarroa High School, Agriculture, Food, & Natural Resources (AFNR) P-TECH at Martin High School, and the Vidal M. Trevino School of Communications and Fine Arts Magnet School.

CHS Library Club Members and Gear Up Students attend the Nuestra Historia Sigue Event in Mission, Tx. They were introduced to a variety of poetry writers, and the highlight was hearing and meeting author Sandra Cisneros. All were intrigued, inspired, and given an autographed book from Ms. Cisneros. Everyone left inspired to create their own story.
