The LISD Athletic Department hosted the 2024-2025 Coaches Conference for all LISD middle and high school coaches at the Dr. Marcus Nelson Conference Center. The conference celebrated the 2023-2024 athletic accomplishments and geared up for an exciting scholastic year with our student-athletes.

Laredo ISD welcomed its newest educators during the New Teachers Academy on Tuesday morning at the Vidal M. Trevino School of Communications and Fine Arts. The morning began with greetings from Superintendent Dr. Sylvia Ríos. The new teachers are spending the week learning about LISD’s policies, procedures, instructional technology, and much more.

LISD Kazen Fellowship students participated in activities with the Laredo Sector Border Patrol. The students had an opportunity to hear presentations, see exhibits and take tours with Border Patrol Marine, HPU, SUAS, ATVs and Bike Patrol Units.
Congratulation to LISD Student of the Month for May Cynthia Molina from Cigarroa Middle School.Molina is an eighth-grade honors and gifted and talented student at Cigarroa Middle School.
Cynthia is Captain of the school’s Robotics Team, and a member of Junior FFA, Algebra Program, National Junior Honor Society. She enjoys coming to school because she likes to learn new things in her algebra classes.
Medina’s goal is to attend Texas A&M University to major in Business. Once she completes her studies, Cynthia plans to own her own business.
Medina enjoys spending time tending to her horses, goats, and many other animals at her family’s ranch. As a member of the National Honor Society, Cynthia volunteers at the Pet Shelter and the South Texas Food Bank.
She attended Zachry Elementary School and plans to go to Nixon High School and the BIPS Early College Academy. Cynthia is the daughter of Irving and Nancy Lozano.
