REMINDER: LISD is kindly requesting your support for our upcoming Annual Belle of the Ball prom dress distribution event! We are collecting formal and semiformal gowns to provide our students with memorable attire for their prom night. If you have any gently used formal or semiformal dresses that you would like to donate, we would be immensely grateful for your contribution.
Drop-off: You may deliver the dresses to the LISD Office of Communications located at 2400 San Bernardo Ave. from Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Our Annual Belle of the Ball will take place on Wednesday, April 17th, at the Dr. A. Marcus Nelson Conference Center. Your donated dresses will be showcased and distributed to our students during this event.

As the solar eclipse passed over Laredo, Nixon High School students, staff and administration joined in the schools courtyard to witness the spectacular once in a lifetime event.
Tigerland witnessed a solar ecliptic stunning show this afternoon! Martin High School students gathered to view the 2024 Solar Eclipse.
Thanks to Laredo ISD's diligent efforts, students enjoyed the celestial event with ISO-approved protective glasses and parental permission forms ensuring a safe and memorable experience. From science classrooms to West Martin Field, the mighty Tigers gazed skyward, snapped selfies, and reveled in the magic of nature's grand spectacle.
Laredo ISD is truly the place to bee! Congratulations to the Martin High School UIL Spelling & Vocabulary team for earning first place! The Tiger team members include: Natalie González, Zoey Gonzalez, Esmeralda González, and Gabriel Benavides.

Laredo ISD IRS-certified students are here to help with your income tax! In partnership with the Laredo Family Economic Success Coalition, LISD certified students will prepare income tax returns for FREE for those with qualifying incomes up to $59,000.
Online registration is NOW OPEN! All students in pre-kinder through 12th grade who would like to attend any school in Laredo Independent School District for the 2024-2025 school year can begin the registration process by visiting the district’s website at www.laredoisd.org.
The registration process is available in both English and Spanish. For any assistance, please call (956) 273-1278 where trained staff will be available by phone to assist any parent who needs extra support with the registration process.
It's National Library Week and Laredo ISD is diving into reading! The LISD Library and Media Services Department kicked-off the week with a Proclamation Ceremony. The District's elementary and secondary school librarians and librarian assistants were recognized during a luncheon.
During the recognition luncheon, Sandra Gonzalez of Macdonell Elementary School was selected and honored as LISD’s 2024 Librarian of the Year. Congratulations! Thank you for Leading the Way!
Congratulations to Cynthia Martinez, a teacher at Christen Middle School, for achieving the Top-Performing Teacher District-Wide title in the LEXIA English Program! Martinez has excelled in both usage, accumulating the most minutes, and progress, gaining the highest number of units. Additionally, three CMS students have also completed the entire LEXIA English Program for the school year. Well done Cubs!
For the first time ever, a Hector. J Garcia Early College High School student was accepted to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. GECHS senior Aron Fuentes was nominated and accepted for this honor by U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar. Fuentes became the first GECHS student accepted to the prestigious academy.
